Two Minutes In History The scene lasted a mere two minutes in a movie that was made over a quarter century ago and yet the infamous golden bikini is still hot in American pop culture. In the spring of 1983, many families attended the science fiction movie, Return of the Jedi, with most mother’s paying little attention to the two minutes in which Princess Leia is held captive while wearing a hot golden bikini, most men who were teenager’s in 1983 can remember their first glimpse of that hot bikini. Today, this same hot bikini is seen in science fiction and comic book conventions worldwide.
